Ingredients

1 package of puff pastry dough (thawed, if frozen)

100g (3.5 oz) dark chocolate, chopped into small pieces (reserve a bit for drizzling)

¼ cup pistachios, finely chopped

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

1 tablespoon butter (optional, for extra richness)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Puff Pastry: Roll out the thawed puff pastry dough to about a 1/8-inch thickness. Cut the dough into triangles (about 6-8 inches wide at the base).

Add Chocolate and Pistachios: Place a few dark chocolate pieces at the wide base of each triangle, then sprinkle a small amount of chopped pistachios over the chocolate.

Roll the Croissants: Starting from the base, roll up each triangle into a croissant shape. Tuck the ends slightly underneath to keep the filling secure.

Brush with Egg Wash: Place the rolled croissants on the baking sheet. Brush each one with a thin layer of beaten egg to give them a nice golden color.

Bake: Bake for about 15-18 minutes, or until the croissants are puffed and golden brown. Let them cool slightly.

Prepare the Dark Chocolate Drizzle: Melt the remaining dark chocolate and butter (optional) in a microwave-safe bowl in 15-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.

Drizzle and Garnish: Drizzle the melted chocolate over the warm croissants, then sprinkle the remaining chopped pistachios on top.

Serve: Let the chocolate set for a few minutes, then serve and enjoy warm!

Tips

If you'd like extra richness, brush a little melted butter over the croissants before baking.

Serve with a dusting of powdered sugar for an elegant touch!
