• 1 kg fresh mussels, cleaned
• 4 tablespoons butter
• 4 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 tablespoon paprika
• 1 teaspoon chili powder (adjust to taste)
• 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra spice)
• Salt and black pepper, to taste
• Juice of 1 lemon
• Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Sauce:
• In a large pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
• Add the minced garlic and sauté until it’s fragrant (about 1-2 minutes).
• Stir in paprika, chili powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
2. Cook the Mussels:
• Add the cleaned mussels to the pan and toss them in the garlic butter mixture.
• Squeeze in the lemon juice and cover the pan.
• Allow the mussels to cook for 5-7 minutes, or until they open up. Discard any mussels that don’t open.
3. Serve:
• Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
